Signal Processing (SP) covers theory, algorithms, performance analyses and applications of techniques for the processing, understanding, learning, retrieval, and extraction of information from signals. Topics include: adaptive SP, multidimensional SP, nonlinear SP. Statistical issues include classification methods, cyclostationary signal analysis, deconvolution, detection, filtering, higher-order statistical methods, system identification, non-Gaussian signals and noise, non-parametric methods, nonstationary statistical signal processing, parameter estimation, signal restoration, signal and noise modelling, spectral analysis and spectral estimation, statistical signal analysis, signal separation, system modeling. Image processing includes advances in algorithms, software and hardware. Topics include human and computer vision systems, image processing, video processing, object recognition, facial expression recognition, gesture recognition, image and video based biometrics, video surveillance and video event detection.
