Summer school on nonparametric Bayesian methods

This course is designed to provide a basic coverage of Bayesian nonparametric models. This includes the coverage of the basic properties and the computational issues associated with their practical implementation. The emphasis of the course is on the probability models for probability distributions and their practical applications for hierarchical model building. The discussed methods will be illustrated with a wealth of examples, including applications ranging from stylized examples to case studies from recent literature. Some basic knowledge on Bayesian parametric inference, including hierarchical modeling and simulation-based inference using MCMC is assumed. The course will include practical sessions in R and some in Win/OpenBUGS. The school is hosted by the Interuniversity Institute for Biostatistics and statistical Bioinformatics
